Description

We discuss, how finite difference schemes for linear differential equations may be computed with the help of Computer Algebra system \textsc{Singular}. Moreover, we show how von Neumann stability of an obtained scheme may be checked by using a cylindrical algebraic decomposition with systems \textsc{Singular} and \textsc{Mathematica}.
