Structural properties of the optimal policy for the multi-server controlled retrial queueing systems

Description

We consider controlled retrial queueing systems with several exponential servers, functioning at different rates. Controlled queues with heterogeneous multiservers with possibly different characteristics for services rates, service distributions take into account many practical aspects in modelling real systems, namely, network nodes with servers supplied by different types of processors as a consequence of system updates, nodes in telecommunication network with links of different capacities, nodes in wireless systems serving different mobile users and so on. The heterogeneous struture and possibility for dynamic controlling substantially complicates the mathematical modelling of this system and requires the application of some special approches and techniques, such us matrix-geometric solutions, matrix recursiv algorithmic methods and so on.
