Sensitivity analysis of performance and reliability measures in a multi-server retrial unreliable queueing system

Activity: Talk or presentationContributed talkscience-to-science

Description

The paper provides sensitivity analysis of performance and reliability measures in an unreliable queueing system with multiple servers and constant retrial rate. The servers can differ in service and reliability characteristics. We have proved the insensitivity of the mean number of customers in the system to the type of the allocation policy for equal service rates and confirmed a weak sensitivity in a general case of unequal service rates. A further sensitivity analysis is conducted to investigate the effect of changes in system parameters on the reliability function as well as on alternative reliability discrete descriptors such as the distribution of the number of failures of a certainty server and the maximum queue length in a life time.
