Description

The “Long-Term Investment Program for Forestry (1950/1952)” funded a broad spectrum of measures. These included logging (e.g. construction of forest roads), reforestation, forest protection, a forest survey, forest research and thinning. These were not only financially funded, but also supported by an additional program which was named Technical Assistance Program (TAP). Austrian forestry representatives went on study excursions to the USA, to study American forestry first hand. The people who took part in these excursions where supposed to act as multipliers and bring American productivity (a key issue of the ERP) to the Austrian forests.
