Poison or tonic? A relational view of institutional logics

Activity: Talk or presentationContributed talkunknown

Description

This paper explores the realm of art, design and organization with a particular emphasis on collective values. More specifically, it examines the dynamics between two opposing value spheres, namely the logics of arts and business. We contribute to advancing the institutional logics perspective: first, we demonstrate that opposing logics are inextricably bound to each other; second, we propose a typology of institutional arrangements that rely on systematically varied ways of juxtaposing two incommensurable logics (in our case the logics of arts and business), and we highlight how these arrangements both constrain and rely on different forms of leadership.
