Description
Thin films of high-Tc superconducting (HTS) materials like YBa2Cu3O7 (Y-123) and Bi2Sr2CaCu2Os16 (Bi'2212) are of great scientific interest for fundamental invcstigntions and various applications. HTS matcriuls are quasi-2D supcrcond[ctors and novel functionalities emerge, when thin films are nanostructured and the manipulation of nragnctic flux qunnta hecomcs tcasible' We report on the grorwth and characterization of Bi-2212 thin films. This cuprate matcrial Shows extremely high anisotropy of the electronic and thermal transport properties and can be considered a quasi-2D material with a layered unit cell structure. We grow thin films of Bi-2212 with thicknesses of 25-50 nm by the pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) technique. Cerarmics are used as targets for laser Ablation and thin films are grown on different Substrate materials. The PLD parameters are optimized and ceramics and films are characterized for their structural and electrical properties (X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, element analysis. atomic force miicroscopy, electronic transport measurements). Thin films can be nanostructurcd by ion-beam techniques.Period | 01 Jun 2023 |
