Optimization of 3D Knee Joint Angle Determination

Description

In this work a new, simple and robust approach to determine 3D knee angles is presented. 3D knee angles do not only provide information about flexion and extension, but also about q-angle and rotation. An optimizer determines the transformation of the measured orientations to the knee coordinate frame. This approach is realized with low-cost hardware, nevertheless high accuracies are achieved.
