    Description

40% of all active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) can be considered poorly water soluble. New processes and formulations need to be developed to enhance the bioavailability of such substances. Injection moulding technique is used to fabricate drug dosage forms with enhanced solubility. The distribution homogeneity of the drug within the polymer matrix must be ensured by the end of the injection moulding process. The posterpresentation gives an overview of the CFD set-up for an amorphous solid dispersion of the plasticizer unit and the tablet injection mould.
