Novel Concept for Identification and Correction of Asymmetric Hystereses when Characterising SMM

Description

When determining the new curve of soft magnetic materials (SMM), it is required to connect the inflection points of the symmetrical minor loop hysteresis. Until now, no uniform measure is known that quantifies this symmetry and guarantees comparability. In the scope of this paper a new method to asses this asymmetry is presented and applied using measurement data. Furthermore, this novel characteristic can be employed to determine the shift of the magnetic operating point of transformers during operation and thus prevent failures.
