Description

A class of hybrid control systems, consisting of a passive base isolation and an additional active damper is considered herein. The seismically excited high raised building is modelled as a shear wall structure with nonlinear, hysteretic restoring forces. Using the differential geometric approach of disturbance decoupling a controller with ideal suppression of the earthquake excited vibrations is derived. Since in general there are uncertainties in the underlying parameters and not all state variables can be measured an easy robust control law based on the theory of passive and dissipative systems will be given. Finally, computer simulations demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the discussed approach.
