Description

The investigation of magnetization dynamics is a highly active field of research on both the experimental and the theoretical side. In our group we focus on the computational description of condensed matter properties. The primary method of choice within our group is the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker multiple scattering approach to density functional theory on which our in-house code Hutsepot relies. This multi-purpose code is not only capable of self consistently determining electronic ground state properties for both ordered and disordered materials, it can also be used to investigate dynamics in terms of the Linear Response Density Functional Theory. Thereby it is perfectly suited to treat magnons and other excitations on a first principles basis.
