Multiphase flow imaging

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talkscience-to-science

Description

In this lecture, the broad field of multiphase flow imaging is first reviewed. The use of tomographic imaging is briefly described. The authors' more than 15 years of experience in the development and application of flow imaging techniques to the study of multiphase flow is detailed using two prominent examples: wire mesh sensors and direct imaging sensors. Multiphase flow imaging of industrial processes based on non-invasive or minimally invasive techniques can shed light on the complex phenomena involved, which in turn supports the development of safer and more efficient industrial systems and equipment.
