Monitoring Concepts for FMCW Radar Receiver

In this poster presentation, the importance of monitoring functions in modern radar receivers is discussed. It is pointed out that already available monitoring concepts do not cover nonlinearities. A possible nonlinearity is the integral nonlinearity (INL) of a pipelined analog-to-digital converter (ADC). It is shown that this INL severely reduces the sensitivity of the radar sensor. Finally, a rough roadmap concerning current objectives, challenges, as well as future work, is presented.
