Model-Driven Engineering for Digital Twins

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talkscience-to-science

Description

Due to the ever-growing importance of cyber-physical systems as a backbone of our society (think about shorter innovation cycles, emerging cutting-edge technologies, and changing requirements), the design, realization, operation, and maintenance of such systems are becoming more and more challenging. As an answer, digital twins are emerging and gaining attention to support different phases of the system lifecycle such as design-space exploration, runtime adaptation, and predictive maintenance. While benefits of using digital twins are already demonstrated for different settings, the development, operation, and evolution of digital twins pose several novel engineering challenges.
