Description
With reference to the recent discussion on the environmental problem of micro particle emissions even wood heating devices have got talked about to be a
relevant source of this problem. The discussion running is based on the necessity of fulfilling the EC-directive 1999/30 by the member states determining more restrictive immission limits for so called
PM10-emissions (=particulate matters smaller than 10 micrometer) since the 1st of January 2005. A scientific study elaborated at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz makes clear that exclusively ancient
wood fired heating devices produce particulate emissions up to a higher extent. In contrast to this modern wood heating installations are running on a low level of particle releases.
