Description

Synergies and integration in design set a mechatronic system apart from a traditional, multi-disciplinary system. On the other hand, the complexity of mechatronic systems is increasing by the beneficial interaction of components from various disciplines. Conceptual Design is one of the most important phases during product development, as the main parameters, properties and costs of the solution and consequently also the main portions of success of the new product are fixed here. Based on the modular design method, an approach for life cycle engineering of mechatronic systems is presented in this paper.
