Focusing on the role that folk songs play in U.S. labor and other social movements, sociologist and musician Corey Dolgon brings both history and theory to life. This (singing) lecture includes songs from a multicultural perspective and examines the function of folk songs in the struggles for workers' rights, civil rights, women's rights, environmental protection and contemporary movements.
