The Hans Sauer Foundation honors outstanding research projects, groundbreaking technical inventions or "best practices" in business, politics and society with the Hans Sauer Award each year. 2019 the theme of the Award was "Designing Circular Society". On March 13th 2019, the winners were awarded the prize at Munich’s Pinakothek der Moderne. At that occasion, Julia Schmitt, as Jury Member, held the laudatio for "Open Source Hardware" and "Press to play".
