JRC@STAF 2020 - Junior Researcher Community Event of STAF - Membership (Event)

Description

For the second time, STAF provides a forum for junior researchers to interact with their fellows, showcase their research, exchange ideas and get feedback from senior researchers about how to continue their professional career: the different path they could follow, how to apply for research projects, how to supervise PhD students, how to propose/pitch reserach projects within a company, etc. In genenral, the opportunities both academia and industry offer, the challenges and other useful information. This year we are aiming at getting industrial researches involved as part of the committee (and possibly to attend the sessions) in order to provide more insight from the industrial side of a research career. Junior researchers are understood to be undergraduate students who are near the end of their PhD and postdocs who are not fully independent yet. During the conference and after the event, there will be a dedicated social event only accessible to the junior researchers where, informally, they will have the opportunity to get to know each other and share experiences and ideas.
