International Workshop: The rise of data science – negotiating epistemologies

Description

The diffusion of digital data technologies and algorithmic techniques of data analysis has led to new modes of knowledge production and decision making in academia and beyond. One emblematic development in this context is the rise of data science. The workshop shall offer the opportunity of discussing the epistemological, methodological, and political effects of the rise and spread of data science in and for contemporary societies by drawing on current empirical research.
