Intelligent Technologies for Efficient Mobility and Transport

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talkscience-to-science

Description

Traffic congestion is one of the main problems many countries face daily. The high density of vehicles cause traffic jams on all types of roads. Apart from the negative effects that road congestion has on drivers, health and the economy, it also affects the environment. Relying on Intelligent Transportation Systems we can help to alleviate the problem by using a broad range of electronic technologies, making transportation systems safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly. In this talk a variety of solutions are presented, that rely on the analysis of mobility patterns data that are collected by sensors with the help of communication technologies. The role of simulation tools and driving monitoring systems to investigate interaction in a vehicular environment is highlighted.
