How resource-efficient is my company? Methods and tools

Description

Implementing resource efficiency on a corporate level requires a three-stage procedure. Starting with awareness-raising (top management committment, integration of employees through information and incentives for resource improving ideas, integration of resource efficiency into strategy and planning), in a next step the resource consumption has to be analyzed in order to depict efficiency potentials. The last step of this so-called „Triple A Model for more resource efficiency“ (attention-analysis-action) ends with implementing the measures. The focus of the presentation lies on relevant tools for depicting the resource efficiency. These include: 1) definition of relevant resources, 2) Input-Output-analysis, 3) material flow analysis, 4) resource efficiency indicators 5) comparison of indicators, 6) cost and optimization analysis.
