Description

Certain algebraic structures ("near-rings") give rise to Balanced Incomplete Block Designs, which in turn produce most efficient designs for statistical experiments. In particular, they allow to detect not only single factors for the outcomes under consideration, but also give information on all pairs of possible factors. This method is exemplified in a medical case.
