Description
Bi2 Sr 2 CaCu2 O 8+δ (Bi-2212) thin films with thickness less than 50 nm are grown by pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) technique. The elemental composition, phase purity, and microstructure of films are analyzed by electron spectroscopy (EDX, AES, XPS), electron microscopy (SEM, TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The superconducting properties are determined by measurements in magnetic fields and fits of theoretical models to the measured data. Bi-2212 films grown on LaAlO 3 substrates and annealed in-situ at temperature T > 700 °C partially decompose into non-superconducting impurity phases (Fig. 1).
