Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talkscience-to-public

Description

SDG 17 clearly reminds states to focus on multilateralism & global cooperation. It also addresses civil society & the private sector to participate in the challenge to make the world more sustainable. The diagnosis presented here is among the 3 stakeholders for the implementation of SDG 17 it is civil society who can be labelled as an active agent for global cooperation & multilateralism. »People have the power to redeem the work of fools« (Smith 1988) Conclusion: The world needs a »new enlightenment« (Weizsäcker/Wijkman 2018). To do this humanity needs to leave behind working in »containers« in favour of a more systemic approach that will require us to rethink the organisation of science & education!
