Description
Port controlled Hamiltonian Systems with dissipation, or PCHD-systems for short, have turned out to be a versatile tool for the mathematical modelling of complex physical systems. The corresponding methods are well established for lumped parameter systems. This contribution presents a way, how this approach can be extended to distributed parameter systems. Furthermore, it is shown how one can derive a spatially disretized model from the distributed system such that the energy relations between different parts of the system are preserved. The proposed generalization is applied to piezeoeletric structures.
