Fuzzy Relations in Evaluation of Computer-Assisted Assessment

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talkunknown

Description

Computer-assisted assessment (CAA) comprises any process of assessing knowledge, opinions and/or skills with the help of a computer whereas the involvement of the computer can be accomplished in very different ways. The focus of the presentation will be set on the evaluation of a student's answer within self-assessment. After some preliminaries about CAA we will introduce an evaluation concept based on fuzzy relations which allows to model the similarity between the student's answer and the correct answer. We will talk about the underlying mathematical framework as well as about further possibilities of application like, e.g., the evaluation of data according to existing prototypes or in flexible query systems.
