Description

This article presents a method to realize printed circuit traces based on the principle of inkjet printing. The focus lies on printing of adaptable resistors for the realization of strain gauges. Material parameters such as thermal expansion coefficient, temperature dependency of the electrical resistance and electrical power limits are investigated in detail. Finally, a printed electronic circuit for evaluating a printed strain gauge is developed and its functionality is proven.
