The term neoextractivism refers to a debate that has appeared in the last two years and is dealing with the extraction and the export of commodities in Latin America. The respective debate critizeses the development model followed by the new leftist governments. It claims that extractivism enforces the dependent integration into the world market, although incomes are applied to welfare policy programmes.
