Description

For careful performance of an experimental modal analysis, a certain auto-WMAC matrix allows conclusions on coupled systems. Off-diagonal elements in this matrix explicitly indicate coupled modes. The respective relationships are proved for vibroacoustical systems and can also be applied for couplings within mechanical or acoustic systems.
