Description

European universities face challenges in their transition to online or blended education. In consultation with the European Commission, EADTU has developed the EMPOWER action programme, which supports universities in modernising higher education. After an in depth institutional needs analysis, EMPOWER will offer outstanding European experience and expertise to higher education institutions, which are planning bottom up change processes to implement online and blended teaching and learning. The vision and strategy of the programme is defined by the EMPOWER Steering Committee. It is now opening a call for experts in new modes of teaching and learning. The call will be closed on the 31st of July 2014. The experts will deliver added value to higher education institutions in a range of areas relating to online and blended teaching and learning, complementary to institutional experts. Together, they will support institutional transformation and change processes in the sector. The international experts will be part of an expert pool of outstanding European experts in the respective areas, where they can develop a joint leadership in a European expert pool. They will deliver international consultancy and staff training on site in universities European-wide. The initiative for action comes from universities, which need support in their transition to new modes of teaching and learning. They will have the opportunity to publish expert guidelines for online and blended education.
