Embedded, Fully Spray-Coated Sensor for Pressure Measurement Using a Capacitive Transducing Mechanism

Activity: Talk or presentationPoster presentationscience-to-science

Description

This work presents a fully spray-coated pressure sensor that is suitable for applications in the high pressure range. It is embedded into functionalized organic coatings that also act as a dielectric for the capacitive sensor. The manufactured sensor can withstand temperatures up to 250 °C. The sensor has been characterized using a hydraulic pressure test bench and the average achieved sensitivity is 39 pF/MPa at room temperature. At 90 °C, the sensitivity is increased by 27.5 % and at 130 °C by 42.5 %. The sensor output is stable over several hundred cycles after a set in phase of 20 cycles.
