Clipping method allowing to find exact solutions of nonlinear evolution PDEs with discrete spectrum is presented. Its possible mathematical generalizations as well as application to some physical problems (for instance, for description of nonlinear interactions of drift waves in TOKAMAK plasma) are discussed
