Eddy currents sensors are mostly used in position detection or defect detection applications of conducting surfaces or bodies. The main part of the eddy current sensor is a coil which can be constructed on an printed circuit board (PCB coil). In most cases of eddy current sensor cosntruction, the PCB sensor coils are implemented as multiplayer spiral coils.
