Description

Abstract. EasyLocal++ is an object-oriented framework that can be used as a general tool for the development of local search algorithms in C++. The basic idea of EasyLocal++ is to capture the essential features of most local search metaheuristics, and their possible compositions, allowing the user to address the design and implementation issues of local search algorithms for a given problem in a more principled way. During the years the Ecosystem of EasyLocal++ has grown by including different components for developing innovative metaheuristics and easing the debugging and the analysis of the developed algorithms. The use of such a system will give the user a set of out-of-the-box algorithms and techniques for fast prototyping of local search metaheuristics. In the presentation, an overview of the EasyLocal++ architecture will be given along with a full case study regarding the development, debugging, and analysis of a family of local search algorithms for a combinatorial optimization problem.
