Distributed Control Architectures for Adaptive Production Systems

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talkscience-to-science

Description

The dynamics of the 21st century market with continuously decreasing life cycle spans and increasing variability of products require production systems with increasing flexibility. In this context, adaptive production systems that are composed of flexible modules and pluggable machine components allow their addition, removal or modification for providing specific functionality when needed. According software concepts based on distributed control architectures are necessary for controlling such a production system based on modular components.
