Dissertation: Knowledge Representation and Ontology Merging in the Context of Automated Production Systems, Felix Ocker

Activity: Expert activitiesExpert activity for dissertations and habilitations

Description

The increasing complexity of automated production systems leads to large amounts of interdependent but isolated knowledge. To support engineers, this thesis contributes to formal knowledge representation in three ways. The core is a framework for merging heterogeneous ontologies. Additionally, ontology creation is facilitated using information extracted from engineering artifacts. Three representative applications demonstrate the benefit of ontologies for the domain.
