Data Anonymity

In times in which from each place in the world access is possible to nearby all data, privacy and anonymity is more important than ever. Within this presentation first the role of data anonymity and general concepts will be presented. Then a particular approach will be introduced where some data records will be slightly altered to achieve two goals at the same time, a given degree of anonymity and a given quality for association rule mining. So data can be used for this data important mining technique even if they fulfill particular anonymity criteria. This research has been done mainly at Ho Chi Minh Technical University and the presenter’s institute was partly involved. Finally the question will be discussed to what extent data anonymity can be achieved at all. Keywords: Data Anonymity, k-Anonymity, Association Rule Mining.
