Creating a Learner Community through Peer Feedback

Activity: Talk or presentationContributed talkunknown

Description

This talk focuses on how to create a community in which students are willing to communicate and cooperate in English with the help of a peer feedback task in the electronic learning platform moodle. The original aim of this activity was to improve the students' topic choice for a presentation, yet through this very activity, students established ownership of their presentation topics; the feedback created a sense of audience and purpose for the presentations: students felt in charge of the situation, as they could choose the topic themselves, through the forum, they felt connected to each other and they could show their competency by delivering a good talk on a business topic in English.
