Counter-hegemonic integration vs. the European Union – or: Why should the Left discuss regional integration at all?

Description

The presentation gave an overview over central terms related to regional integration, such as "region", "regionalism" and "regionalisation", introduced the neoclassical scheme of gradual regional integration and discussed the three big waves of regionalism. Finally, I critically commented on the theoretical concepts laid out earlier and suggested some questions which should be posed concerning current regional integration processes.
