Computer Algebra Algorithms for Modular Functions

Activity: Talk or presentationInvited talkunknown

Description

The talk reports on a joint project with Silviu Radu. Its goal is to develop computer algebra algorithms to assist mathematical research in connection with modular functions. A major application is a new unified approach to the celebrated Ramanujan congruences for partition numbers modulo powers of 5, 7, and 11. The algorithms presented in the talk are also relevant outside this application domain, for instance, to decide subalgebra membership or to construct algebraic relations for functions on Riemann surfaces.
