Comparison of Homopolar and Heteropolar Bearingless Reluctance Slice Motor Prototypes

Activity: Talk or presentationContributed talkunknown

Description

This paper focuses on the operational behavior of two bearingless reluctance slice motor prototypes. After a brief introduction of the two systems, experiences, obtained from both novel bearingless drives, are presented. On this basis, communalities and differences, in various areas, e. g. construction, geometric constraints, winding systems, force to torque ratio, power electronic utilization and efficiency, will be outlined. This will help to point out the applicability of the reluctance slice motor concepts for industrial utilization.
