Description
"The functionality of infrastructures can be endangered by natural hazards, technical accidents, human error, dangers in cyber space, crime and terrorism. The protection of critical infrastructures and industrial security are therefore becoming increasingly important.
Risk assessment is an important tool for identifying security gaps and prioritizing security-related interventions in a facility. There are no consolidated risk assessment methodologies and tools for different natural hazards and guidelines that focus on the industry and community level.
Accident and near-miss data, which are critical to creating scenarios, are often closely guarded for fear of adverse effects. The working group promotes and facilitates this interdisciplinary exchange at expert level in order to support future risk reduction."
