The lecture deals with some cleavages within ALBA (Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América), above all with the subordinate role of social movements in regard to the established institutional framework, and with conflicts concerning Venezuela's and Bolivia's participation in neoliberal integration projects like Mercosur.
