Classical mechanics and electromagnetism - A covariant view

Description

We present non-relativistic particle mechanics incorporating the Lorentz force induced by the electromagnetic two form in a covariant description based on differential geometric methods. This intrinsic formulation is achieved by the construction of an affine connection splitting the vertical tangent bundle of the configuration bundle and the use of an appropriate covariant differential.
