Description

The political processes which characterized Latin America during the last decade, point to a deep crisis of the neoliberal project. However, despite of a generalized rejection of neoliberal politics, experiences at the national level show a complex and contradictory panorama. There can be distinguished three lines of development: first, the persistence of the neoliberal project, second, neodevelopmental politics, and third, efforts of decolonization which aim at undermining oligarchic and imperialistic structures. The purpose of the symposium is to analyze these processes of transformation with respect to the three scenarios mentioned before.
