Description

Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field of engineering science which characterizes the interconnections between mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science. One key aspect of successful multi-disciplinary design is achieving a comprehensive view and in turn the application of effective methods and tools on the system level of mechatronic design. With this aim, we present an educational concept that helps with teaching young mechatronic design engineers. The authors have applied this concept in several practical and lecture courses at the Institute of Mechatronic Design and Production at the Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria.
