Description

In recent years, more systems and algorithms of Non-commutative Computer Algebra became available. I am going to present an overview of the directions, in which the development goes, and to comment on Computer Algebra Systems, sketching their functionality in the non-commutative area. In the second part of the talk, I will show some recent algorithms, which are definitely of interest for the ring theorists and discuss some open theoretical and algorithmic problems. Among them are the Central Character Decomposition, Algebraic Dependency of Pairwise Commutative Elements and also the Annihilator of a Left Holonomic Module. If the time will allow, I will demostrate some live computations with the non-commercial system Singular:Plural.
