Description

This contribution is focused on the accessibility analysis of distributed parameter systems. In this context we utilize a differential geometrical framework, which permits a description for this class of systems in a coordinate-free manner. Geometric objects are introduced with a structure reflecting the dynamics of a system. Based on this covariant representation for infinite-dimensional systems a formal system-theoretical analysis is proposed by means of differential geometrical methods. In particular, the accessibility of dynamic systems along a trajectory is discussed in general and a geometric illustration of this system property is provided. It is shown how (local) (non-)accessibility criteria can be derived via the utilization of transformation groups. For illustration the proposed theory is applied to an example.
