Description

In this talk, we discuss the symbolic computation of finite difference schemes, applied to systems of PDE's with constant coefficients. In particular, a Groebner-bases based algorithm is proposed. As soon as the scheme is computed symbolically, we show how to analyze it for the consistency, von Neumann stability and dispersion. We discuss several examples in detail.
